A new way to discover the places around you. Basic business signs and verified entrance markers are free. Custom signage, menus, promotions and special events are paid options. Viewers always explore for free.
This is the Web App route used to see the COHUA test sign. The glasses run the experience; Meta AI on your phone adds it.
No computer cable or COHUA phone app is needed. This developer demo requires Meta’s Web Apps feature to be available on your account and device.
Pair and update in Meta AI
Use Meta Ray-Ban Display with current software. The documented Web App minimum is glasses firmware v125 and Meta AI v272; newer versions may also work.
Enable Developer Mode
In Meta AI, open Settings → App Info, tap App version five times, then enable Developer Mode. Labels can vary by app version.
Add COHUA as a Web App
Open the paired glasses settings, then App connections → Web apps → Add a Web App. Enter these details and confirm Add or Connect.
If your phone does not open the link, use the manual steps above. Opening the HTTPS URL in a phone browser previews the page; it does not put it on the glasses.
Open it on the glasses
Put on your glasses and select COHUA Device Test from their app grid. Choose 3D display check to show the sign.
Try the optional motion test
Choose Stop to leave the display check first. Stay still, choose Enable motion, allow the requested sensor access, then choose Center here when ready. Turn your head to test orientation. Use Spin to rotate the sign or Stop to end the test.
What you’re testing
A 3D sign and an orientation experiment. This demo does not keep signs fixed to buildings, hide them behind real walls or discover businesses as you walk.
02 / THE NATIVE PILOT
One tap. Then phone in pocket.
Explore is designed to keep your started session and native menu controls available when you lock your phone, where Meta and your phone allow it.
Phone-lock behavior is awaiting physical-device validation. This pilot is for authorized Android testers. The iPhone app cannot be installed yet.
You need COHUA approval and access to its Meta integration. If invited, accept the Meta invitation with the same account you use in Meta AI. An invitation and the phone app are separate setup steps.
Install the signed Android pilot
Authorized testers receive the COHUA APK separately. On an Android 12+ phone, open that file and follow Android’s installation prompts. If prompted, allow installation from the app opening the COHUA file, then turn that permission off again afterward. You do not need a computer cable.
Prepare the glasses integration
Pair and wear your Display glasses. For this pilot, use Meta AI v282 or later and glasses firmware v125 or later. Follow Meta AI’s Developer Mode prompts to install or update the glasses integration, keeping Meta AI open until it completes.
Connect COHUA with Meta
Open COHUA, tap Connect with Meta, complete Meta AI’s registration prompts and return to COHUA. Allow Bluetooth / Nearby devices when requested, and choose your Display glasses if a device list appears.
Start Explore and wait for ready
Tap Start Explore. Allow COHUA notifications so its ongoing notification can provide an End control. Keep the app open while it says Preparing Explore; wait for Glasses display is ready.
Test a menu, then put the phone away
Tap Test a menu card and check it on the glasses before locking your phone. Wake the glasses normally if their display sleeps. Native controls should remain available while the authorized session is preserved.
End or restart when you choose
End Explore from the glasses, the COHUA phone app or the Android notification. After a session ends or disconnects, reopen COHUA and tap Start Explore again.
What Explore does today
It keeps a user-started native session and menu controls available where supported. Nearby searches pause with the phone locked. It does not automatically start from an installation, show new signs as you pass buildings or launch the separate 3D Web App.
A LITTLE HELP
Ready when you are.
Keep the app open until setup finishes. Pairing once and starting an Explore session are different steps.
Confirm you have the Display model, update Meta AI and glasses firmware, and check Developer Mode. Feature availability may depend on your account, device and rollout. If the option is still missing, contact Meta support or COHUA; the phone browser alone cannot display the sign in your glasses.
COHUA is connected but nothing appears.
For the native pilot, tap Start Explore and wait for the ready message; connection alone does not start the display. Complete any integration update in Meta AI. For the 3D demo, open COHUA Device Test from the glasses app grid, then select 3D display check.
The glasses went dark when I locked my phone.
The display can dim or sleep without ending its session. Wake it normally. If Explore has ended, unlock the phone, check Bluetooth and COHUA’s notifications, and start again. Phone-lock operation is still being tested and cannot be guaranteed through interruptions, force-stop or power restrictions.
Do I need to allow location, camera or microphone?
The sign demo does not need location, camera or microphone. Its optional motion test requests sensor access. The native pilot needs its connection permissions and notifications for Explore; location is a separate choice for nearby discovery while COHUA is open. Camera and microphone access are not requested by this build.
Will installing COHUA make every nearby sign appear?
No. You start the display experience yourself. Building-fixed signs, discovery while the phone is locked, daily themes and consumer app-store releases are still in development. Our goal is useful free place information with optional sponsored content.
Does this work on other AR glasses?
Our first focus is Meta Ray-Ban Display. Support for other glasses needs a compatible display and tracking integration; this guide does not establish compatibility with other models.
